Company Profile
Jean Guy Desormeaux
has been in the butchering
trade for more than 48 years. He and his wife Cecile of 44 years
proudly opened their first butcher shop at Crysler, Ontario in 1977
(see
map). In 1981 they expanded the business by purchasing the
premises,
which includes the abattoir at No. 1 Queen Street just south of the
South
Nation River bridge. Presently, the Desormeaux’s three sons, Jean
Marc, Sylvain and Joel are active in the business. They offer a
variety
of custom services and quality meat products consisting of slaughtering,
butchering, retailing
and recently added wholesale deliveries. Local farms
supply
the beef, pork, and lambs used in the business. Their satisfied
customer
base ranges all the way from Montreal to Kingston. A provincial government hygiene officer is
present during all the slaughtering on the
premises to ensure compliance
of the Ontario Food and Quality Act 2001, Regulation 31/05.
